Name: Women-Owned Small Business Contracting Rule
Date: August 30, 2017
Time: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
The TSBDC at Cleveland State is pleased to present, Where’s the Money?, as part of our ongoing training. Federal agencies spend roughly $100 billion with small businesses on an annual basis. It was realized that that federal government contract awards to Women-Owned Small Business (WOSBs) were limited and a subsequent study listed industries in which women were underrepresented and substantially underrepresented in the award of federal contracts. To address this issue, the WOSB Contracting Rule was implemented February 4, 2011. If you are a woman owned small business and fall in one of the designated industries, you can position your company to bid on federal government set asides for WOSBs and economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). We invite you to attend the Where’s the Money Workshop to view a listing of the designated industries, learn how to position your company to bid on WOSB set-aside projects, and maneuver the www.fbogov web site to find WOSB opportunities.
